Basic STCW
- Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1 / Spanish specialty certificate) and a valid ISM pre-embarkation medical for professional service.
Specific courses
- Radio operator certificate (SRC/restricted operator) for the service's VHF communications.
- Training in basin manoeuvring, minor towage and mooring support (company practice).
- Occupational risk prevention for the relevant port service.
Indicative experience
The Marinero de Puente certificate requires a sea-service period to obtain (verify Order FOM/2296/2002 and its amendments); as a guide: local operators also require proven practice in the specific basin before assigning solo handling.
Observations
Do not confuse three regimes: (1) port inland waters — an attribution of the Marinero de Puente (< 10 m, no passengers) or the Patrón Portuario; (2) continental waters — regional licences; (3) leisure — PNB/PER, which do not entitle paid work (the professional leisure route is the PPER). What this role does
